As usual, my abstract photography is meant to allow the viewer to provide their own story in the composition. Even for me there can be multiple stories in the final piece. Here the lines and colors provide a tumbling beauty. It's title "Gathered" reflecting the joy and chaos of the approaching holiday season with multiple gatherings of family and friends.
But also it is an examinations of “guided mindfulness” and the result of a blending of a variety of philosophical and religious approaches to explain our purpose as a presence on earth, the Blue Marble. By focusing in on the piece, I can separate myself temporarily from the world to "gather my thoughts and quiet them." It is an expansion of my “Kasinas” series designed to provide the space and calm for directed meditation and the three Rs - Recognize, Release, Return. They are adapted from the meditative disks to facilitate my immersion into reconnection with nature and energy to work for sustainable communities.
