Hold Fast

“Hold Fast” is part observation and part prayer in my Mending Knee Series which tracks with the epidemic and resulting upheavals in our families and communities. Though our knees were knocked out from under us, if we holdfast, healing can get us right again.

It is a two photograph composite of the x-ray of a broken knee and my model posing in a cave in Rock City Park, Mt. Diablo. The integration of a “clinging pose of comfort” with bone and rock acknowledges that we are both vulnerable but also resilient with each other’s support.

If we hold tight, our families, communities and republic will mend.
