This painting is one of a very few that I call "stick paintings." The brown vines were done with a small twig found on the ground and pressed directly into my paint. Normally, I only draw on site, but for these grapes I actually finished the painting there. Since I so rarely do this, the drying time, etc. felt very different. I used more water and did not wait for layers to totally dry which gives a more misty effect. I very much like the way it turned out.
