Prometheus Unbound is a drama by Percy Shelley, published in 1820. It is concerned with the torments of the Greek figure Prometheus, who defies the gods and brings fire to humanity for which he is subjected to eternal punishment and suffering at the hands of Zeus, until Jupiter is abandoned by his supportive elements and falls from power, which allows Prometheus to be released.  <<>>

As artists, with Prometheus’ gift of fire, we are ignited with possibilities, mixing the raw materials lifted from Gaia with thoughts and emotions in our crucibles of creation. It is a happy torment. Photographer Michael Endicott and Ceramicist Rosine Ferber share a sculptural approach to their work. Often there is no predetermined idea of how the end piece will look. In a stance of curiosity, at one with the photograph or clay, they allow the process to unfold as it should. In the end, Rosine’s ceramics and Michael’s “cement canvases”, bring lyrical form to their chosen raw materials and their particular artistic flair.
