"Clay resists, clay yields; and there I play.

The tension between what holds and what gives way is where my work begins.
I'm drawn to the moment when a form begins to shift beyond its original stillness.
I follow that movement, allowing a gentle twist or quiet imbalance to emerge.
Even after firing, the piece carries the memory of having being fluid.

Opening and perforations extend that conversation. Light passes through, shadows shift,
and the boundary between interior and exterior becomes less certain. These
moments of permeability reveal what is usually hidden, inviting a slower way of seeing.

My practice is informed by years of teaching yoga, where attention rests on the
relationship between effort and ease. In clay, I explore a similar dialogue between
structure and openness, containment and release. Through these forms, I look for the
stillness that exists within change itself."
